Charity Match in Memory of Jack "Jacko" Brennan, 13th October 2012 @ Westcombe Park RFC k.o. 1pm (gates and clubhouse open from 12pm).

Jacko used to play for ‘Combe from U15 through to U18, having started his playing career with Old Elthamians. He also played a good level of rugby league with Greenwich Admirals and more latterly London Broncos. He was a feisty utility back, with great skills and a huge boot.

Jacko passed away on Friday 10th August 2012, after a yearlong battle against epetheloid sarcoma, a rare form of aggressive malignant soft tissue cancer, which affects joints, ligaments, muscle tissue and tendons. He was just 19 when he passed away.

A charity match will be played in Jacko’s memory, between a Westcombe Park Select XV vs. an Old Elthamians Select XV, both teams featuring peers of Jacko. The match will kick off at 1pm, it will be followed by the 1st XV National 3 London & SE league match between Westcombe Park and Old Elthamians and will feature various fundraising initiatives including a “Cava” tent & a live band post matches. All the funds raised will be donated to a cancer charity set up in Jacko’s name, which is being established to help cancer victims aged 13 to 20.

Jacko was a popular character amongst his peers, who will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his Mum Julia and his brother Luke.
